  • Are there good walks from the front door?

    Yes and from the back door also.   Bridge Farm is surrounded by over 30 arces on the banks on the Escley Brook and in the shadow of the Black Mountains.  The fields out the back are great for a queit strole and there are many footpaths and we have lots of maps and walking books at Bridge farmhouse for you to use.

  • How far to walk to the nearest Pub?

    The award winning riverside Bridge Inn Pub is located only one minute walk down the hill.  


    It is only a minute down the road, but you might want to take a torch on a dark winters night as we are very rural.    Great Beer, Food and a Warm welcome.

  • How much does it cost and what dates are available?

  • What are the payment terms?

    You will need to pay a deposit to confirm your booking and then you will recieve details to make payment of the balance prior to arrival.  All payments are sucure with PCI compliant payment system.  If you prefer to pay via bank transfer give us a call.

  • Is Wifi available?

    Wifi is included with the booking.  Unlimited use is free of charge.

  • Is bedding and are towels included

    Yes, towels and bedding for all guests are included.

  • What baby equipment is available?

    Bridge Farmhosue has a travel cot and high chair available use to free of charge.  Just let us know if required and we will have them ready for your stay.

  • Are dogs allowed?

    Yes, by prior arrangement.  We have a garden and feild to the rear that are both fairly well enclosed. 


    We provide a dog water and food bowl if you book with a dog / dogs.


    Dogs are allowed down stairs only, not on furnature or beds.  Pleae not the downstairs area is very comfortable and spacious.

  • Where is the nearest shop?

    Hopes of Longtown is a fantastic local shop - 4 miles away in Longtown - its the nearest shop.  Hay on wye is 9 miles away with lots of fantastic shops, cafes and pubs.


    There are also about 30 bookshops in hay on wye and this the home to the wounderful Hay Festival as well as the Winter Festival.

  • Can we get a supermarket delivery?

    Yes, all the usual supermarkets deliver, Just use the full address:

  • What supplies will we find in the farmhouse?

     

    Tea, coffee (we roast our own), sugar & milk to welcome you on arrival, plus all kitchen linen, cleaning materials, and bathroom items and loo roll to get you started.

    Ample crockery, cutlery, glasses, cooking & serving equipment for 10 people

    Scissors, can opener, corkscrew, peeler etc.

    Enough teabags & freshly roasted coffee to be going on with

    A pint of milk to start you off.

    Sugar, salt, pepper & pepper mill

    Apron & oven gloves

    Tea towels & dishcloths

    Pan scourers

    Hand soap

    Washing-up liquid & dishwasher tablets

    Bin liners, cleaning goods, J cloths etc

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    Travel Insurance is now widely available and we strongly recommend taking out travel cover to cover cancellation costs.


    Payment: For bookings made more than 6 weeks before arrival, a non refundable deposit of 25% of the total cost of the holiday, is required. The balance is due 6 weeks before the holiday commences. For bookings made less than 6 weeks before arrival, the total amount is payable in full on booking.


    We always try to be as accommodating as possble but if we end up being empty due to a cancellation we are not able to offer any kind of refund.

  • How far are you from Hay-on-Wye?

    We are located 9 miles from Hay as the crow flys.   Its about 20 minute drive.  


    You can just turn left out of Bridge Farmhouse and take the scenic route or also take the next left and then right and go 'over the top' via Craswall.  Both routes are beautiful.


    If you prefer the main road head down to Peterchurch and go via the Golden valley.

  • Where in Herefordshire are you located?

    We are right on the edge of Herefordshire, Powys and Monmouthshire.  Its a stunning rural location:


    Bridge Farmhosue is opposite the Church and the turn for The Bridge Inn Pub.


    If you come into Michaelchurch Escley from Vowchurch and Peterchurch direction then turn left at the T' junction in the village.

  • How do I book a gin making workshop, distillery tour or Coffee roasting workshop?

    As we are a small set up, booking for Gin Making and Coffee roasting need to be made in advance.

The Cats Back

The Cats Back is one of our favourite local walks on the edge of the Brecon Beacon National Park.


We also have stunning walks up Hay Bluff and down by The River Wye.


The Tree House Cafe is a great addition to Hay on Wye and enjoys great views over the river.


You cant be a short walk to the Bridge Inn also, and there are lots of walk leading to the pub.


Abergavanny is about a 15 mile drive.


Hereford is about the same.






Farmhouse Kitchen

The Farmhouse kitchen is spacious and has a locally made oak tables to set all guests together and also a small sofa and additional window seating.


There are 2 fridges (one for food and the other for beer and wine!) there is also a chest freezer located in the utility room.  Just off the kitchen there is a large walk in pantry. 


The Aga is only light in the winter months, but there is also a large range cooker and the lounge is off to the side with a large log burner, the rear door leads to large back garden and hot tub.  


It is well equipt with everything you need to a prefect stay. 


And if you don't fancy cooking you can just head down the pub.

A stunning rural location

We are rural, but are so lucky to be a short walk to an award winning pub - The Bridge Inn and we also have our own distillery and coffee roasting barn.  Both can be visited by prior arrangement.  We can also offer bespoke and tailor made workshops, including but not limited to coffee roasting, coffee tasting, coffee shop planning consultations, distillery tours and tasting, gin and rum making and event cocktail making sessions.  Ask for more details:
